I am striving to be an expert in developing looks, audiences and voices that make my clients stand out from the rest. I have quickly come to learn that creating online presence is crucial in developing a modern brand. Here are the important aspects I learned right off the bat.

The past couple months have been life-changing. I’m more connected, more passionate and more ready than ever to build a portfolio and gain experience. I’ve met tons of people, learned a lot in my classes and it’s with great excitement that I announce that all this progress has culminated in accepting a summer internship with Howell Marketing Strategies located in downtown Memphis.

Finally!

However, I could not boast of these achievements without crediting the incredible help and commitment that the University of Memphis Department of Journalism has shown me. This testimonial goes beyond the department itself. I say it to stress the importance of building a relationship with your teachers and classmates. You have four years with them – make it count.

That is me – at the CTV News desk. Cool, eh?

This January, my mom was given two tickets to tour the CTV studios in downtown Vancouver. When she asked if I wanted to go, I was hesitant. I had been to the CNN headquarters in Atlanta – and I didn’t think anything could top that. However, I agreed to go because I thought it’d be nice to see the Canadian side of things.
